Regional Production Highlights - Week of June 27th:

Tariff Update

  • No Tariffs on fresh produce from Canada and Mexico under USMCA.

  • 10% Tariff on fresh produce from all other countries, possibly affecting prices and availability.

Weather & Supply Impacts

  • Southeast U.S.: Some weather disruptions, but no major delays expected.

  • West Coast Mexico: Heavy rain and flooding may impact harvest and transport from Southern Mexico.

 

 

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

  • Tomatoes:

    • Good quality from Mexico (Jalisco, Baja, Monterey).

    • Romas in high demand, commanding premiums.

  • U.S. East (GA, NC, SC): Quality still good; winding down. Transitioning to NC/TN.

  • California: Strong tomato and bell pepper production; transitioning to Arvin.

  • Cucumbers: Good out of Georgia and Baja.

  • Short Supplies: Tomatillo, Habanero, Jalapenos.


Fruits

  • Mexican Table Grapes: Improving; domestic volume from desert regions rising.

  • Melons: Wrapping in desert, moving to Central Valley.

  • Bananas & Pineapples: Limited supply; banana supply volatile due to Panama labor strike.

  • Stone Fruit: New crop out of California and Georgia/South Carolina.

  • Cherries: From Washington State.


Avocados

  • Inventory strong ahead of July 4th.

  • Mexico nearing season end; transitioning to Flor Loca by mid-July (may impact supply/pricing).

  • Peru and Colombia continue supplying; Peru seeing higher volumes than last year.


Salinas Valley

  • Slightly warmer temperatures; may lead to future quality/supply issues.

  • Current quality and supply steady.


Leafy Greens & Brassicas

  • Lettuce: Market up sharply due to lighter yields; quality still good.

  • Romaine: Rising demand; escalated pricing.

  • Broccoli & Cauliflower: Supplies light, especially from Mexico; both escalated.

  • Brussels Sprouts: Tight supply, quality issues.

  • Other Greens (Bok Choy, Napa, Endive, Escarole, Fennel, Leeks): Escalate
