PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

Fruits

  • Avocados: Market remains steady with good supply from California, Mexico, and Peru. Colombian supply is tight.
  • Pineapples: Supply is stable but expected to tighten over the coming weeks, with firm to higher pricing.
  • Grapes: Supply is improving as the San Joaquin Valley season begins.
  • Bananas: Stable supply and excellent quality despite increasing school demand.
  • Apples & Pears: Apples remain steady; pear season is ending with inventory expected to bridge to the new crop.
  • Berries: Mixed market—strawberries are weather-affected but stable, blueberries remain limited, while blackberries and raspberries are tight.

Citrus

  • Limes: Good supply, quality, and demand, with pricing easing slightly.

Stone Fruit & Melons

  • Cantaloupe: Limited domestic supply due to pest issues and delayed production; shortages expected.
  • Honeydew: Supply remains limited with ongoing shortages and contract prorates.
  • Watermelon: Limited domestic and Mexican supply, with weather delays increasing prices and demand.

Lettuce

  • Lettuce supplies continue to improve, easing market pressure despite lighter weights. Quality remains generally good.

Vegetables

  • Bell Peppers: Markets remain elevated with tight Eastern supply and increasing pressure on Western production.
  • Eggplant: Strong East Coast supply and quality make it a good promotional item, while California pricing remains higher.
  • Slicer Cucumbers: Stable overall, though Eastern production is ending. Western regions and Mexico are expected to fill supply gaps.
  • English Cucumbers: Yields have declined, creating tight supply, though volumes are gradually improving.
  • Squash: Good supply continues across multiple growing regions.
