Direct Ship vs. LCL
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
With over 30 years experience as a wholesale grocery and foodservice distributor we understand the needs and challenges of our customers conducting business in the Caribbean. Our facility in Medley, Florida enables PDL to drop ship or deliver to any South Florida consolidator or freight forwarder. Logistical solutions are tailored to meet your business requirements. Should a direct ship program with our manufacture or producer partners be preferred, our ability to facilitate your order is viable.
Whilst still receiving added benefits of focused marketing solutions and improved dates on your product, the direct shipment method ensures maximum return on investment. Bypassing the distribution channel concept by avoiding any middlemen, ensuring both manufacturer and customer benefit from this relationship.
For the manufacturer, it reduces transportation and storage costs. For the customer, it reduces delivery time and the price of the product. However, if the minimum order quantities or full loads are too excessive for your market and current business model, we can assist with less than container loads for any stocked items.
LCL creates shorter order cycles and reduces wastage for those Caribbean Countries that cannot adhere to the large minimums sometimes imposed by manufacturers. With many smaller Caribbean territories combining their purchasing power, this allows for a wider SKU variety without the heavy minimums.
PDL International has identified the challenges faced by smaller territories. We bring forth the solution of coordinating product procurement and logistics based on your individual needs with combined volumes' collective strength.

Foreign Trade Zone Certification
FTZ CERTIFIED
More and more U.S. companies are using Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) to better manage their global supply chain costs.
PDF International has FTZ Certification, whereby manufacturers can benefit by saving on duties, merchandise processing fees, quotas, and more.
"Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ) are secure areas under U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) supervision that are generally considered outside CBP territory upon activation. Located in or near CBP ports of entry, they are the United States' version of what is known internationally as free-trade zones".
