According to the World Health Organisation (the “WHO”), it was estimated that more than 339 million people had Asthma globally in 2016 across 195 countries. It is a common disease amongst children. The WHO estimates that in 2016 there were 417,918 deaths globally due to asthma. Urbanisation has been associated with an increase in asthma prevalence but the exact nature of this relationship is unclear.
